Wigbert Stapff is an expert stone cutter and is responsible for creating the imaginative cuts of the stones used by the pair. Guided by the idea that cut stones are to reflect three-dimensions. Stapff cuts distinct surfaces which, in combination with geometrical lines, allow for special luminous effects. He captures light with his stones and sometimes he gives away both to the pearl.
Also a painter and a jeweler, Stapff is constantly searching for new forms and new modes of expression.
He was born in 1954 in Fritzlar, Germany. He studied at Pforzheim Polytechnic of Design and received his diploma in 1982. Focus of his diploma dissertation: Stones cut by himself. From 1983 to 1986, Stapff taught stone-cutting at Pforzheim Polytechnic of Design.
